A Texas man is arrested after a high-speed chase in Montgomery County.
The Independence Police Department arrested 23-year-old Jesus Manuel Rodriguez of Edinburg, TX on charges of felony flee and elude, transporting an open container and driving under the influence after a pursuit through the city and onto Highway 160. Earlier last week, Officers, near Main Street, heard screeching tires and saw a black Chevrolet Camaro speeding past them in a 20mph school zone.
IPD Officers initiated a traffic stop, however, Rodriguez failed to stop, reaching high rates of speed and driving recklessly. Rodriguez eventually pulled over near 4343 Highway 160, where officers took him into custody. He was granted a $2500 bond.
