A construction project at the railroad crossing on North 10th Street in Independence is set to begin Monday.
Construction crews will begin the process of installing a new water line under the crossing on Monday morning. Traffic disruptions are expected in the area throughout the week, with 10th Street narrowed to one lane intermittently for periods of at least 20 minutes at a time. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic flow, but drivers are urged to use alternate routes.
Two-way traffic is expected to resume on March 17 with only occasional disruptions and the project is expected to be complete by March 21.
