The latest Caney City Council meeting includes an update on the water project, including the water line connection to Coffeyville, the installment of digital water meters, and the conversations between city leaders and state and federal agencies.

 Caney City Administrator Andrea Sibley says recent dialogue with the state and federal government has been beneficial.

 Sibley credits Mayor Josh Elliott for keeping dialogue open between the city and state and federal agencies. She says that relationship plus the addition of SOP's will be extremely helpful.

 Mayor Elliott says installation of digital meters purchased in July 2023 will begin next week, weather permitting. The Public Works Department is completing training on the installation and operation of the meters over the next few days.
