A Carthage man is hospitalized following a shooting late last night.
Carthage Police and Jasper County Deputies along with Carthage Fire and EMS responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 10pm last night. Officers arrived on the scene to find an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Mercy hospital in Joplin with life-threatening injuries.
Police say they have detained a suspect for questioning in the case. No names have yet been released.
