A Saturday morning crash on I-70 in western Kansas leaves a Waukeeny woman dead
The accident happened about 20 miles south of Colby in the westbound lanes of I-70 just before 9am Saturday.
69-year-old Jane Nutting attempted to make an illegal u-turn when 51-year-old Leonardo Gonzalez of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, tried to pass her vehicle. Gonzalez’s Ford F250 struck Nutting’s Ford Ranger, causing both trucks to come to rest on the median. Nutting was pronounced dead at the scene while Gonzalez was taken to a hospital in nearby Oakley with minor injuries.
