The Dearing Fire Department responds to a grass fire between Coffeyville and Dearing.

 

The call came in just before 5pm yesterday afternoon for reports of a grass fire in the 2300 block of County Road 4500. Crews had a difficult time reaching the fire due to muddy roads and field conditions. Additional resources from the Coffeyville Fire Department, CVR Fire, Liberty Rural Fire, and South Coffeyville Fire also responded to the scene. While there were several structures that were at risk from the flames, there was no damage to property and no injuries were reported.

 

Area fire departments remind residents that, even with the recent snow, vegetation is still dry and the recent high winds increase the risk of fire.
