A new master plan for Riverside Park and the approval of 2025 General Obligation Bonds for the Barlett plant waterline will be on the agenda for tonight's Independence City Commission meeting.
Commissioners will be asked to approve the issuance and sale of general obligation bonds for the 9-mile water line between Rural Water District #6 and the Bartlett plant with the understanding that Bartlett will reimburse the city for all costs including financing.
Commissioners will also discuss the approval of a new master plan for Riverside Park. The purpose of the new plan would be to improve accessibility to key areas of the park, including the playground, the mini train depot and putt-putt course, as well as for the big steam locomotive. The revisions to the plan would also help improve safety while adding amenities to the park.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 in the Commission Room at City Hall in Independence. The meeting is open to the public and is available for online viewing via the City's website.
