Firearm criminalists from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation collect firearm information for use in a national database.
The team was in northeast Oklahoma this week to collect firearm test fire for use in the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network or NIBIN FastTrax Database. OSBI Supervisor and Technical Manager of Firearms and Toolmarks Kate Millar says the system is an important tool for law enforcement.
Millar says the database will help reduce crime in the state.
NIBIN is a national database and is operated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
