OK Reveals Official State Map Celebrating Historic Route 66

 

Oklahoma officials reveal new Route 66 map in anticipation of the historic road turning 100 in 2026.

 

Officials gathered at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City on Monday to reveal the new map that will soon be available to travelers in the Sooner State. The cover of the bi-fold map features a motorcyclist traversing Route 66, symbolically having crossed the Bridgeport Bridge to pass by the 50s-era iconography of Stella Atom at Buck Atom’s in Tulsa, Pop’s in Arcadia and the Beckham County Courthouse in Sayre, among others. The map’s retro design features 20 unique stops along and near the route from Elk City to Miami. Drivers can use the state map to find roadside motels, attractions and diners along the historic highway.

 

Maps are free of charge and will be available statewide mid-Spring at any Tourism Welcome Center, The map can currently be viewed on the ODOT website.
