A U.S. District Judge orders an Osage County man to nine years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
Patrick Starkey was sentenced for possession of an unregistered destructive device and a felon in possession of ammunition. Court documents show that the Osage County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a device that exploded in a mailbox in June. Starkey placed two explosives and notes inside a mailbox of an innocent third party in an attempt to harass his ex-wife. Court documents state FLOCK cameras helped identify Starkey as a suspect.
When a search warrant was executed on his home, explosives and ammunition were located that matched the devices used on the mailbox. Starkey admitted to committing the crimes. The Osage County Sheriff's Office investigated this case alongside the Tulsa Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
