Police in Galena have arrested a suspect in a burglary following a brief car chase.

On Sunday evening, Galena Police responded to a call from a citizen who reported that he was following a suspect who had attempted to break into his residence. Officers quickly located the vehicle, but when they attempted to pull over the driver, the suspect fled. A brief chase began that ended when the suspect crashed the vehicle in a field. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly caught and taken into custody. The person was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and faces several charges, including felony stealing and fleeing from police.

The suspect's name has not been released.
