The Parsons Police Department is offering a new program for residents who are elderly, have chronic health issues, or other issues that might put them at risk.
The R You OK? Program is a free service offered to Parsons residents that provides scheduled, automated phone calls to the subscriber to make sure that person is doing okay. The program is intended to ensure the participant’s daily safety and wellness. Subscribers can chose the number of scheduled calls they wish to receive and also provide P-P-D with an emergency contact person. If the subscriber does not answer and the emergency contact also does not answer, P-P-D will conduct a wellness check on the subscriber.
The program is open to seniors who live independently, those with medical conditions, people who live alone, or anyone who might benefit from a regular safety check-in. The program is only open to those who live in the Parsons city limits.
