The winners of the inaugural Paint the Town Purple Decorating Contest are announced. As part of the Alumni Weekend festivities, area businesses were encouraged to decorate their storefronts and compete for credits on their electric bills.
Carter Automotive took first place with a “Nado Family Tree” display on their front window. Studio Blue took second with a “Tornado Warning” theme featuring a TV painted on their window. KGGF took third place with a radio-inspired “Sound the Siren” theme. First place received $100 off their bill, second place got $75 off and 3rd place was awarded $50.
Other businesses businesses that participated included: Cooperative Credit Union, the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce, Legacy Insurance, CrazyKooky Candles, Hersh’s and Nichols Hitching Post.
