Man Arrested on Multiple Charges in Parsons PD Lobby

A man is arrested for 20 criminal charges in the Parsons Police Department Lobby.

According to the Parsons Police Department, yesterday, police officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Parsons Police Department to speak with 34-year-old Martinez Avery Tutt of Parsons regarding a protection from abuse order that had been served on him.

During the conversation, Tutt began making concerning statements and exhibited behavior suggesting he was under the influence of a substance. Officers asked if he was carrying any weapons, at which point he reached into a backpack and then lifted his shirt to reveal a pistol. Officers then quickly detained him.

Tutt was taken into custody, where he admitted to daily drug use and was also questioned about a separate criminal case earlier this month.

As a result of the investigation, probable cause was established to arrest Tutt on charges including Criminal Use of a Weapon Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In addition, Tutt is facing multiple charges stemming from domestic-related incidents earlier in the month, which have been referred to the Labette County Attorney's Office for formal prosecution and include three counts of rape, three counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated criminal sodomy and three counts of domestic battery

This continues to be an ongoing investigation. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 620-421-7060.
