KDOT Urges Drivers to Use Caution on Snowy Roads and Highways

The Kansas Department of Transportation is urging drivers to use caution today as the state starts to recover from the recent snowstorm.

KDOT says that most of the highways and roads in southeast Kansas remain covered with snow and ice today, though state and county crews are out working to get them cleared. KDOT advises those who don't have to be out and about to stay home and avoid hazardous driving conditions. If you do have to drive today, slow down and use extreme caution. If you find yourself following a snowplow, give the truck plenty of room and stay back about 200 feet or about the length of four school buses. And, remember to be patient.
