The President of Pittsburg State University announces his resignation.

Dr. Dan Shipp, who became the school's tenth president in 2022, is leaving to become president at Maryville University in St. Louis. Among Shipp's goals during his tenure at Pitt State was student recruitment, retention, and balancing the school's budget.

In a statement released by the P-S-U Board of Trustees, the Board thanked Shipp for his service to the school, citing his accomplishments such as increasing on-time graduation rates, increasing student financial aid awards, and decreasing student loan debt.
