A suspect in a fatal weekend shooting in Carthage is arrested in Galena.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 Saturday night. Shortly after, Carthage Police and Jasper County deputies responded to the scene where they discovered a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin where he later died from his injuries. Police identified the suspect in the case as 19-year-old Elijah Hardee. Hardee was later arrested in Galena and has been charged with Homicide in the case.
