Officers from the Parsons Police Department will be spreading kindness today on National Acts of Kindness Day.

P-P-D will distribute Walmart gift cards today to senior citizens through the Meals on Wheels Program. This initiative is made possible through donations received by community members to the Parsons Police Legacy Fund. Established under the Parsons Area Community Foundation, the Legacy Fund is dedicated to supporting community and youth programs such as Shop with a Cop, youth sports, and future scholarship programs as well as this year's National Acts of Kindness Day.

These programs work to foster the department's ongoing commitment to establishing and maintaining community connections and giving back to the community of Parsons. The program comes at no expense to taxpayers.
