With tomorrow's winter storm incoming, area warming shelters are preparing for a long week ahead.
Touch of Life Ministries in Coffeyville is planning to be open 24 hours a day with all staff on site. Organizers say they've had nine individuals stay at the warming center last week and expect more this week. They're currently in need of the following donations to help others during the storm. Those include:
Dry macaroni and egg noodles
Shredded cheese
Shredded lettuce
Bell peppers
Potatoes
Paper plates and bowls
Coffee
Sandwich meat
Canned soups
Canned cream of mushroom soups
Taco sized flour tortillas
Spaghetti sauce
Canned tomatoes
Canned tomato sauce
Canned corn
Snack items like cheese crackers, popcorn, small bags of chips or cookies
Milk
Water flavoring packets
Paper towels
Donations can be dropped off at the warming center at 501 E 9th in Coffeyville as staff is already on site.
