A Salina man who was injured in a February 4 standoff with police is arrested after being released from the hospital.
29-year-old Manuel Johnson-Ponce was shot by police earlier this month after barricading himself and a toddler inside a Salina residence. Following the incident, Ponce was taken to the Salina Regional Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was released from the hospital earlier this week and was promptly arrested by agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. He was then taken to the Saline County Jail where he was booked on a warrant for three counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, two counts of criminal threat, aggravated endangering a child, domestic battery, criminal restraint, and criminal trespass.
The investigation remains ongoing.
