The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Sheriff Ron Wade advises area drivers to proceed with caution this morning.
As the most recent winter storm moves across southeast Kansas and Montgomery County, Sheriff Wade encourages those who do not need to be out and about to stay home and stay safe. For those who do need to be on the roads, allow for extra travel time to account for the slick roads and streets.
The Kansas Department of Transportation KanDrive app shows that roads in southeast Kansas are listed as completely covered this morning. Snow showers are expected to continue through the morning hours, so drivers are advised that roads may be hazardous during the morning commute.
