A truck hauling heavy machinery is involved in a fatal crash in northwestern Kansas.

The accident happened just before noon yesterday when a Super Duty truck driven by 51-year-old Terrence Blackwill of Norton was westbound on US-36 just east of US-83 or about 12 miles south of the Kansas/Nebraska state line in Decatur County. Blackwill lost control of the vehicle after locking up his tires, causing his vehicle to slide into the ditch. As the truck entered the ditch, it started to roll causing the trailer it was towing to detach. At that point, the heavy machinery on the trailer became unsecured and rolled as well. As the truck and trailer rolled, Blackwill was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
