A Roosevelt Middle School student wins $1000 for the second time in as many games.
During Field Kindley home basketball games the Nado Booster Club holds a fundraiser sponsored by Solutions North Bank for a Halftime Shooting Contest. Raffle tickets are sold for a dollar each or six for $5 and if your ticket is drawn you get 35 seconds to hit a layup, free throw, three-pointer and a half-court shot. RMS 8th Grader Coltin Clark had the winning ticket during halftime of the Lady Nado game against Columbus. He hit the layup, free throw and three-pointer all in one attempt and had 20 seconds to hit the half-court shot. Clark missed the first half-court attempt and got the ball back with 14 seconds left on the clock.
One of Clark's friends had the winning ticket last Friday in the boy's matchup against Pittsburg. He chose Clark to compete in the competition for him where Clark hit the half-court shot. After that make, Clark says part of the $1,000 won would go to the friend and the rest would be saved to go towards a car for when he turns 16. The Nado have two home games left in the regular season so fans have four more chances to win $1000 for themselves.
