The Nowata County Commission hears from the County Emergency Manager regarding a bill currently before the Oklahoma Legislature.

 

Emergency Manager Laurie Summers says the new house bill involves the [possible creation of a volunteer corps.

 

In other business, the commission continued the discussion of ongoing courthouse improvements, with this week's topic involving the exhaust vents in the jail and the possibility of shutting off hot and cold water for maintenance near the mapping office.

 

Commissioners also passed a motion to approve a right-of-way acquisition for Guy Engineering on a tributary on a bridge at Lightning Creek.
