The City of Independence asks Montgomery County for support for its new revitalization plan.

 

At today's Montgomery County Commission meeting, Independence City Administrator Kelly Passauer asked commissioners for the county's support for the city's new revitalization plan. Passauer says the city's new plan will eliminate the eight former districts and include areas near the city limits.

 

The city will also be looking for support from other taxing entities in the County, including ICC and USD 446. Passauer says the plan will benefit those groups as well as the city and the county.

 

Commissioners agreed to the new plan, which will go into effect pending approval by the Independence City Commission at this Thursday's meeting.
