A Chanute woman is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge following a weekend incident.
The Chanute Police Department arrested 72-year-old Katherine Stanislaus on Sunday following reports of a domestic disturbance. Police responded to the 1000 block of South Denman Avenue and spoke to several people involved in the incident. Stanislaus was taken into custody for the attempted murder charge plus aggravated domestic battery. Police also arrested 55-year-old Holly Miller on a domestic battery charge.
Reports of the investigation will be forwarded to the Neosho County Attorney's Office for review and consideration of what, if any, charges will be filed.
