A fatal collision occurred on Saturday evening in the westbound lanes of the Will Rogers Turnpike, about four miles east of Claremore.

According to authorities, the crash involved a 2006 Lexus driven by 26-year-old Aaron Brixey of Pryor, and a 2004 Ford Escape driven by 37-year-old Matthew Gatewood of Chelsea. Gatewood was pronounced dead at the scene. Brixey was not injured.

Reports indicate that Gatewood was ejected from his vehicle during the accident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
