Winter Weather to Return, Snow Expected

Another winter storm is on the way, although impacts are not expected to be as severe in the four-state area than in much of Kansas.

According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected to develop on Tuesday night and could become heavy at times, especially during the early-morning hours on Wednesday.  Ahead of the main storm, light flurries could form Monday through the day on Tuesday.  This is not expected to cause travel impacts.  Current models forecast between 2 and 4 inches for the Coffeyville area, while central Kansas could see as much as one foot.

The storm could have some impacts in northeast Oklahoma, southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas, but there is still uncertainty regarding the storm tracks and precipitation timing and amounts.  KGGF will continue to provide updates as the storm approaches.
