The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office assists in a capital murder investigation.

On Tuesday at around 11:30am, the Sheriff’s Office received an alert from one of their license plate readers regarding a vehicle wanted in connection with a capital murder case in Hidalgo County, Texas. The vehicle was traveling through the county on Highway 169. Deputies, with assistance from the Cherryvale Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol, successfully located the vehicle.

The occupants, along with the vehicle, were transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, where they were interviewed by investigators from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle will be processed as part of the investigation at the request of Hidalgo County investigators. This is an ongoing investigation.
