Oklahoma State University President Resigns

 

The President of Oklahoma State University Dr. Kayse Shrum is stepping down.

 

In an official statement made today, the university says the Oklahoma State University A & M Board of Regents has accepted Shrum's resignation, effective this past Monday (February 3).

 

Shrum, a native of Coweta, has been OSU President for nearly four years, becoming the first female president of the school in April 2021. In her time in the position, Shrum oversaw a record increase in enrollmet following the Covid pandemic. She also supervised the Human Performance and Nutrition Research Institute as well as the creation of the Aerospace Institute for Research and Education to support the growth of the aerospace industry in Oklahoma.

 

Shrum has given no reason for her resignation.

 

OSU Provost and Senior Vice-President Jeanette Mendez will serve as acting president until an interim president is chosen.
