Yesterday, the U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of Doug Collins as the new Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

 

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran who chairs the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs says our nation's veterans deserve strong leadership.

 

Moran says Collins has displayed that he is prepared to lead the VA and support the needs of veterans.

 

Moran extended his congratulations to Collins on his confirmation and thanked his Senate colleagues for their votes. Collins was confirmed on a vote of 77 to 23.
