Severe weather season is just around the corner and the National Weather Service is getting ready by offering another round of storm spotter training classes.
Meteorologists from the N-W-S offices in Wichita and Tulsa will present information to help prepare storm spotters and weather enthusiasts for the coming storm season. Their staff will provide an in-depth weather presentation that will teach audience members about different types of storms, individual storm features that will help identify the possible severity of a storm, how to report hazardous weather, and severe weather safety.
Upcoming sessions include presentations tonight in Claremore, OK, at the Rogers County Courthouse and in Altamont at the Labette County High School Storm Shelter. There will be another tomorrow night in Chanute in Sanders Auditorium on the Neosho County Community College Campus and on February 13th in Nowata at the Nowata Fire Department.
All presentations begin at 6:30pm.
