The City of Cherryvale makes a slight adjustment to the new home and business incentive program.
At Monday's city council meeting, a resolution was passed to increase the incentive cap from $1,500 to $2000 for services such as culvert installation, water and sewer tap connections and building permit fees.
City Clerk Karen Davis says this reflects the increased costs for the city to perform some of these tasks.
The incentive program aims to encourage economic growth and is available for anyone building a new home or business within Cherryvale. Incentives are available for buildings that are a minimum of 950 square feet. Applications for the program can be made at city hall.
In other business, the council tabled a cereal malt beverage license application for a convenience store on 6th Street and set a work session for February 25th at 5 p.m. to review the city's comprehensive plan.
