The Kansas Bureau of Investigation executes a search warrant at an Independence home.

 

A heavy law enforcement presence was observed in southeast Independence at a home near the intersection of Hill and Fountain Streets on Monday.

 

According to the Montgomery County Chronicle, a KBI spokesperson confirmed that the activity involved a search warrant as the KBI's Southeast Child Victims Unit investigated a local matter. The KBI's High-Risk Warrant Team was also on scene with tactical gear and weapons. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department was also on hand.

 

No violence or arrests were reported. The KBI's investigation is ongoing.
