Recall of Broccoli Sold at Walmart Elevated to Most Serious Category

 

The recall of a brand of broccoli florets sold at Walmart is elevated by the Food and Drug Administration to the most serious level of risk.

 

Braga Fresh recalled some packages of its ready-to-eat 12-ounce Marketside Broccoli Florets in December and the FDA has recently upgraded the recall to a Class 1. Class 1 ins the most serious category of FDA food recalls and refers to “situations in which there is a reasonable probability that use of or exposure to a product will cause adverse health consequences or death.”

 

The recalled products were sold at Walmart stores in several states including Oklahoma and have a best by date of December 10, 2024. The product may be contaminated with listeria.

 

Other states where the product was sold are Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

 

The recall only pertains to 12oz bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets sold at Walmart stores. The recalled products have a UPC code of "6 81131 32884 5" on the back of the bag, and a best-by date of Dec 10, 2024. The products also contain a lot code of "BFFG327A6".
