An early morning fire yesterday destroys a Dearing home.
Around 5:40am yesterday, Dearing fire crews were called to a residence on County Road 2000 just east of Dearing. When crews arrived on scene, they discovered a two-story home fully engulfed in flames. Crews from the Coffeyville Fire Department and Tyro Rural Fire were then called in to assist in combating the blaze. The fire was brought under control about an hour of work by the firefighters on scene.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was undetermined though attention was paid to a gas heater that was left on.
Coffeyville Police and Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies assisted on the call.
