Moran Co-Sponsors Bill To Improve Vet Access to Health Care

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran co-sponsors a bill aimed at improving access to health care for veterans.

Moran, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs joined his House counterpart Representative Mike Bost of Illinois in authoring the Veterans’ Assuring Critical Care Expansions to Support Service members (ACCESS) Act of 2025. The purpose of the legislation is to establish existing community care standards as the baseline standard for care. Moran says veterans too often face difficulty in getting the care they need.

Moran says the current law means long wait times, restrictions on community care referrals and other bureaucratic barriers that prevent veterans from accessing life-saving care from VA.

Moran says that the proposed ACCESS Act would help make certain that VA delivers on those promises made to the nation's military vets.
