A search for two missing children in Linn County, KS, ends in tragedy.

 

The Linn County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of two missing children in the Lake Chaparral area in rural Linn County around 8pm Monday night. The pair had not been seen for several hours. An investigation led deputies to believe the two juveniles had been around the lake and the sheriff's Office used a drone to search above the waters. Video from the drone revealed that the two juveniles were deceased in the water and were trapped under the ice.

 

The Overland Park Fire Dive Team was called in to assist in retrieving the bodies from the lake.

 

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
