Southwest Missouri Woman Charged with Two-State Murder

A Lawrence County woman awaits murder charges in Missouri and Arkansas after confessing to killing her husband.

The Aurora-Marionville Police say 31-year-old Taylor Santiago was arrested yesterday morning after arriving at the police department; she told them she just murdered her estranged husband Troy Huffman.

AMPD Chief Wes Coatney says responding officers went to the apartment and found Troy's body. The body appeared to have gunshot wounds.

Santiago also admitted to shooting two other people in Arkansas, including a man believed to be the biological father of one of her children.

AMPD and authorities in Carroll County, Arkansas, are cooperating in the investigations in both states.

Carroll County authorities say they are investigating a call in which a man and a woman had been shot. EMS says a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Santiago is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

A gun found at the Missouri scene is believed to have been used in both shootings.
