The Neodesha City Commission is considering whether or not to use city funds to repair sidewalks near the city's school.
At the most recent city commission meeting, a Neodesha citizen suggested using leftover grant money to do some much-needed repairs to sidewalks near the elementary schools. He says the amount of work wouldn't be much.
According to Kansas law, sidewalk repair is the responsibility of the homeowner. Another citizen says it wouldn't be fair to repair these sidewalks and not do it for other property owners.
The man also pointed out that city-owned sidewalks on Fourth Street are also in need of repair and might be a better use of the grant money. Commissioners decided to table the issue until the February 12th meeting.
