ICC Takes Another Step In the Search for a New President

Independence Community College is one step closer to finding a new president.

At Tuesday's Board of Trustees meeting, trustees began by swearing in their newest member, Dr Logan Null. Board Chair Dr. Cynthia Sherwood then turned the meeting over to current President Dr. Jonathan Sahdoo. Sahdoo asks the trustees to elect a new Chairperson.

Sherwood was selected to serve another term as Chair while Jeri Hammerschmidt was selected as Vice-chair. A large portion of last night's meeting was spent in executive session as trustees reviewed recommendations from the Presidential Search Committee. Twenty-three candidates were up for selection as ICC's next President. The Board's task was to narrow down that number to those who would advance to the first round of interviews. Sherwood says there was a list of criteria to determine those candidates.

Those candidates selected last night will be interviewed via Zoom to determine which ones will move on to the final, in-person interview.
