The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Mayes County.

Just after 3:00am yesterday morning, 32-year-old Bryce Benshoof, of Chouteau, was walking on Highway 412 on the Chouteau Creek Bridge about two miles east of Chouteau. Benshoof was hit by an unidentified vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by MESTA. According to the OHP report Benshoof suffered massive injuries.

The Chouteau Police Department, Grand River Dam Authority and Mayes County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the call. The crash id still under investigation.
