More Trout Stocked in Coffeyville's LeClere Lake

Kansas anglers are enjoying the cold weather trout fishing in the state.

Trout season in Kansas began on December 1. LeClere Lake in Coffeyville was stocked with Rainbow Trout at that time. Last week, thanks to a grant from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, the lake was once again stocked with fish. 152 rainbow trout were added to the waters of LeClere Lake last week, bringing the total this season to more than 400.

According to Wildlife and Parks, all anglers fishing in LeCLere Lake must have a trout permit during trout season. Youth 15 and Under must have a Youth Trout Permit while all residents ages 16 through 74 and all non-residents 16 and older must have a current fishing license in addition to their trout stamp.

Other area fishing lakes stocked for the season include Tanko Lake near Cherryvale and Gunn Park East Lake in Fort Scott. Trout season runs through March 31.
