Firefighters in Dearing respond to a shed fire over the weekend.

 

Yesterday around 4:15 a.m., the Dearing Fire Department responded to the 300 block of Walnut in Dearing to a report of a structure fire. According to the department, the owner reported a shed on fire in the alley behind the home. Upon arrival, heavy flames were showing from the roof and two walls. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in a short amount of time.

 

It was 14 degrees at the time of the call and firefighters had to deal with water freezing on bunker gear, although no equipment issues were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. No one was injured and there was a small amount of exposure damage to nearby structures.
