A semi striking a bridge on I-44 yesterday afternoon causes a Joplin road to be closed for several hours.
Joplin 911 received the call around 1:00; the driver was traveling east on Glendale Road when he got the trailer of the semi wedged underneath the westbound bridge of I-44.
The wreck damaged the semi and had to be towed. The road was closed for several hours while the semi and trailer were recovered.
Authorities say it's the third incident at that particular bridge in the last few months.
I-44 traffic was not affected. The driver was uninjured.
