Parsons Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest and Drug Seizure

 

A traffic stop by a Parsons Police Officer leads to an arrest and the seizure of narcotics.

 

On Monday, Sergeant Christian Smith conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of South 25th Street. The officer cited the driver for operating without a license and recognized the passenger in the vehicle as 48-year-old Troy Kellogg who had outstanding warrants. Smith placed Kellogg under arrest. During the encounter, Smith observed that Kellogg was attempting to conceal narcotics.

 

A search of the vehicle revealed various substances, including methamphetamine, marijuana, Oxycodone, and morphine. All of the substances have been sent to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for confirmation.

 

Kellogg faces charges of Possession of Controlled Substances and Drug Paraphernalia, along with active warrants for Felony Bond Revocation out of Delaware County, Oklahoma, and a Parole Violation warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections. He was taken to the Parsons Lock-Up. The driver faces charges for multiple traffic violations.

 

The investigation is ongoing.
