Arkansas National Guard Helps Motorists During Snowstorm

Members of the Arkansas National Guard spend their weekend helping motorists stranded by the recent snowstorm that hit the northwest part of the state.

Guard members were positioned along Interstate 49 Friday through Sunday to help motorists in need of assistance stay warm in the frigid temperatures. The guard deployed Humvees to make it easier to reach stranded drivers who were waiting for tow trucks to pull their vehicles out of the snow that fell in the area over the weekend.

Guard members worked 12-hour shifts over the weekend to help keep Arkansas drivers safe from the storm.
