Chiefs Superfan Bank Robber Returns to OK to Face State Charges

A bank robber known as the “Chiefs-a-holic” returns to Oklahoma to face state bank robbery charges.

30-year-old Xaviar Babudar pleaded guilty in 2024 to robbing or attempting to rob 11 banks in seven states and then laundering the money through several Tulsa-area casinos. He was sentenced to 17 ½ years in federal prison for the crimes and had been serving his time in a high-security facility in Florence, CO.

On Friday, Babudar was returned to Tulsa County to face state charges related to robbing a bank teller in Bixby in 2022, in which he is accused of pointing a gun at a bank teller in Bixby and demanding money. He will appear in a Tulsa County courtroom today to face those charges.

The crimes for which Babudar is currently serving time for were committed in order to fund his trips to Kansas City Chiefs football games. He is the subject of a recently released Amazon Prime documentary about his crimes.
