The USD 446 Independence School Board will meet tonight for their January meeting.
The district will be naming the secondary school nomination for Kansas Teacher of the Year, as well as receiving updates from Superintendent Jason McAfee regarding the upcoming MLK Jr. Celebration and a roof replacement at the high school.
The board will also resume conversations with representatives from the Central Park Sports Complex regarding a potential partnership for the construction of baseball fields.
Tonight's meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Independence High School, immediately following the Board Appreciation Dinner at 6:30.
