Farmers and ranchers considering prescribed burning can now attend a Burn Plan Writing Workshop from the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition and the Kansas Association of Conservation Districts.
There are four workshops planned in January and February in locations in eastern, western, north central, and northwest Kansas. The workshops are intended to help landowners gain the skills and confidence to implement effective and safe burning strategies. Topics covered will include the need for prescribed burning, requirements for prescribed burn plans, and practice in creating a sample burn plan.
The workshops will be held in Madison on January 28, in Pratt on January 30, in Stockton on February 11 and in Wells on February 12.
